Universal Free Fall Winches is a family owned and operated company and Director, Harry Xydias, has been a professional fishermen and electrician for more than 25 years. Throughout his years of fishing, he became more and more disillusioned with poorly designed and built drum winches that were slow, constantly tangling and jamming, as well as cutting the anchor rope completely. Because of this, Harry set out to build the perfect anchor winch.

Finally, after 7 years of development, he had achieved what he set out to do and in doing so, founded Universal Free Fall winches so they could be used on vessels all over the world.
