1988 Townson 34

Unison is a Fibreglass Townson 34 by Austral Yachts launched 1988.

A well-conceived evolution of Des Townson’s designs with a lovely interior and generally tidy topsides.

Comfortable cruising starts with the custom boarding platform, cockpit shower and full canvas (Vendor has stowed below but claims these are in good serviceable condition). Tiller steer and all sheeting back to the cockpit for the furling headsail and stacking main. Down below has a quality teak fitout with generous salon dinette, well equipped galley and a fridge plus a separate freezer. Berths incl quarter berth under cockpit, single salon berth to port,

Dinette convertible double, and master cabin double in the forepeak. Bathroom with hand basin and head between master cabin and salon.

Current owners are retiring from sailing. A compromised mast step has been identified by the vendor and has been described as excessive wear between the mast base and the deck stepped receptacle.

This is thought to have occurred due to the stays being too loose and wear happening between the mating surfaces as the boat rocked on a previous mooring. By the vendor’s account this is quite repairable and has not affected the boat herself. Unknowingly, she was sailed from Whitianga in quite adverse conditions in this current state but without mishap, however the issue should be addressed. Unison has been priced accordingly to allow this repair to be undertaken by new owners and to their own satisfaction.

Unison is a very nice yacht at her asking price and represents an exceptional opportunity.
