2016 Chris White Powercat

Chris White, Designed and Built 12m Powercat. The design philosophy behind this powercat, was simplicity itself.

It had to have a simple internal layout, and it had to be low maintenance by way of shallow water anchoring and ease of hull cleaning. She also had to be extremely easily driven through the water and her narrow hulls make this a breeze.

Storm Rider is her name, but the name is quite ironic and shows the humour of her designer and builder Chris White, as she is a calm water vessel, ideally suited to one of New Zealand’s lakes or exploring upper harbour waterways.

The interior is open and airy with very little to clutter her or weigh her down. Two double berths forward and another double in the saloon. She would make the perfect platform for an electric conversion, especially with such a massive cabin top, with plenty of room for solar panels. If you’re looking for a vessel to explore quiet and secluded waterways, or a lake, then Storm Rider might just be the vessel you have been looking for.
